Ι What Are Skewed Magnetized Magnets?
Skewed magnetized magnets are essentially a variant of diametrically multipole magnetized magnets. Unlike regular diametrically multipole magnetized magnets, where the magnetic poles are arranged in straight radial segments around the circumference, either on the outer diameter (O.D.) or the inner diameter (I.D.) surfaces, skewed magnetized magnets feature magnetic poles distributed in a helical (angled) pattern along these surfaces. This unique magnetization pattern helps reduce cogging torque, improve smooth rotation in permanent magnet (PM) motors, and enable magnetic transmission across different surfaces.
The magnetization process for these magnets involves specialized magnetizing fixtures that generate a controlled magnetic field on the O.D. or I.D. surfaces, enabling the precise creation of the required number of poles, skew direction, and angle on the designated working surface.
