What Are Glued Magnets?
Glued magnets are plastic integrated magnetic components where permanent magnets are bonded to molded plastic parts using adhesive after the plastic parts have been produced. The magnets may be attached to flat surfaces, placed into recesses, bonded inside plastic housings, or fixed onto carrier structures depending on the final product design.
Unlike insert molding or overmolding, glued magnets are not placed into the mold before or during molding. The plastic parts are formed first, and the magnets are assembled afterward through adhesive bonding. This makes gluing a flexible method for prototypes, small to medium production runs, and designs where the magnet position or plastic structure may still need adjustment.
Glued magnets should not be confused with bonded magnets. Bonded magnets are a type of magnet material made by mixing magnetic powder with a binder and forming the mixture into shape.
