What Are Flexible Magnets?
Flexible magnets are bendable magnetic materials made by combining magnetic powder with flexible polymer binders. They are widely supplied as magnetic sheets, magnetic strips, magnetic rolls, magnetic tapes, and custom cut parts for light-duty holding, labeling, display, closure, and attachment applications.
From a material point of view, flexible magnets belong to the broader family of bonded magnets. In many sheet and roll products, magnetic powders are mixed and compounded with flexible binders, then formed by calendering into continuous flexible magnetic material. Other forms, such as strips or profiles, can also be produced by extrusion.
Most flexible magnets are ferrite-based. Ferrite magnetic powder provides the magnetic properties, while the binder gives the material flexibility and processability.
