Ι What Is Anisotropic NdFeB Powder?
Bonded magnets are composites of magnetic powder and polymer binders, with the powder’s permanent magnetic properties defining magnet performance. Anisotropic bonded Neodymium magnets constitute less than 10% of the commercial bonded rare earth magnet market, significantly behind isotropic bonded Neodymium magnets, which occupy over 80% share. Anisotropic NdFeB powder is used to produce these magnets.
In contrast, compared to sintered Neodymium magnets with a typical (BH)max of 35 MGOe, isotropic bonded Neodymium magnets with similar composition and cost exhibit a lower energy product. Therefore, under the premise of fully leveraging the advantages of bonded magnets—such as design flexibility and complex shapes—anisotropic bonded Neodymium magnets are critically tasked with filling this performance gap. Notably, anisotropic NdFeB powder is unsuitable for sintered magnet production.
