Ι What Are AlNiCo Block Magnets?
AlNiCo, short for Aluminum-Nickel-Cobalt, is a non-rare earth metallic permanent magnetic material primarily composed of Aluminum (Al), Nickel (Ni), Cobalt (Co), Iron (Fe), and small amounts of other elements such as Titanium (Ti), Niobium (Nb), and Copper (Cu), which help adjust its coercivity. AlNiCo magnets were once the dominant force in the permanent magnet industry until the emergence of rare earth permanent magnets. They are well-known for their high-temperature stability and good corrosion resistance.
AlNiCo block magnets are one of the simplest shapes of AlNiCo magnets, characterized by their rectangular or cuboid shape. They are typically measured by their length, width, and height, with the differences between the three dimensions not as pronounced as with AlNiCo bar magnets. AlNiCo block magnets are effective in various applications, including magnetic chucks and clamping systems.
